Christmas Tree

Hi, just wanted to share with you a Christmas Card I have made for the new Christmas Tree Challenge we have at Holly Jolly.

I have gone Clean and Simple for this card with Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla colour combo.

I embossed half a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using the Stripes embossing folder. Tied some retired Certainly Celery Ribbon around the card stock and created a bow.

The sentiment is from the Snow Swirled stamp set and the cute little Christmas Tree is from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set.

Now I have not added ‘bling’ but some Pearls.

Here is my card…

Hope you are all well and have enjoyed/enjoying your weekend.

We have a new challenge at Come and Get It this week and it is a Sketch Challenge.

I have gone a bit shabby chic and used a lot of netural colours with a touch of Marina Mist.

The Very Vanilla piece has been embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper folder which has some  sponged some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint on it to give it a bit of glitz.

The Crumb Cake cardstock has been embossed using the Perfect Polka Dot Folder and I have also sponged Early Espresso ink on too.

The image is from the Fabulous Floret stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.

There are some pearls at the bottom of the card and one on the die cut Butterfly.

Joy

Hi everyone,

It’s Tuesday and it is time for a new challenge at Holly Jolly.  This week I am hosting the challenge which is inspired by a picture image.

The image has two small children ice skating near some trees and there is a wonderful saying too – “ A Joy that is shared is a Joy made Double”.

So my card this week has lots of DSP but the main focus is the Christmas Tree and the word “JOY”.

I have used the Candlelight Speciality DSP and the tree is from the Snow Swirled stamp set.  The word Joy is from the retired Welcome Christmas stamp set.

I have used Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla cardstock and some retired Real Red Ribbon.

Plus I couldn’t forget the bling to my Christmas Tree.

Colour Challenge

Hi everyone – enjoying your weekend?

This week at Come and Get It we have a colour challenge which is Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.

Hmm I love these colours, yes the Pumpkin Pie is rather bright but a little goes a long way – what do you think ?  Are you thinking outside the box on how to use these colours?

What did I do?  I used Rich Razzleberry for the base of my card and added a layer of Very Vanilla which has been stamped with Crumb Cake and the En Francais script.

I added a strip of the Rich Razzleberry DSP from the Summer Smooches pack. I tore one side and then daubered a little Rich Razzleberry ink.

I added some swirls in Old Olive and some Pumpkin Pie butterflies which had been cut using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die.

The sentiment is from the retired On Your Birthday stamp set and instead of bling I have gone with Pearls, just a few on the butterflies.

Christmas Scraps

Hi everyone – week going ok?  What about your Christmas cards?

If you need a little push what about joining us at Holly Jolly!  We have a great new challenge hosted by Cindy which is to create a Scrap Card.

I don’t know about you but I keep that little piece of cardstock or DSP just in case I need it.  So I had a look in my stash and found some scrap DSP, cardstock and ribbon and created my Christmas Card.

The layout of my card was inspired by the current sketch at Cardabilities and I have used Cherry Cobbler for the base the card.  I just love Cherry Cobbler it is such a perfect colour for Christmas cards.

I added an embossed layer of Very Vanilla and the embossing folder I used was Wallpaper Vintage.  I search through my stash and found the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint that I had to have but do not think I have used and added some to the embossing to give a little sparkle to my card.

The scraps used:

  • Be of Good Cheer DSP
  • Crochet Trim Ribbon
  • Very Vanilla, Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler cardstock

The stamp is from the Tags Til Christmas stamp set and of course there is some bling.

Here is my card…

Hostess Pick

Hi everyone,

How is your weekend going?  We have had a lovely Spring day here in Sydney, lovely sun but a little cool in the shade with the wind but its been nice to be out and about.

I wanted to tell you about our new challenge at Come and Get It this week.  The challenge is the Hostess’s choice which is to use three of the following on your card or project:

Purple, Green, Black, Glitter, Staples, Gems, Ribbon, Circles, Scallops

Great selection don’t you think !

I have used Purple, Black, Green, Gems and Ribbon.

The layout of my card is inspired by the Mojo Monday layout.

Basic Black forms the base of my card and then I embossed some Elegant Eggplant with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.  I added some Frost White Shimmer Paint to a dauber and wiped it across the embossed card stock to add a bit of sparkle.

I used the Floral Frames Framelits to cut out the Certainly Celery cardstock and then embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots Folder.

I haven’t used one my favourite Embosslits Die - Beautiful Wings recently so I added some butterflies.  The sentiment is from the Word Play Stamp Set.

Here is my card..

Glitz and Bling

Hi Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at Holly Jolly and it is hosted by Paige.

The challenge is Glitter and Bling.

I decided to use some Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder for the Glitter and some Rhinestones for the Bling.

The layout of my card was inspired by the current layout at Simply Stampin Challenges and the colours are inspired by the Dynamic Duos current challenge which is to use Cherry Cobbler and a colour of your choice.

The colours I have used are Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede.

I used the Snow Flurry Die to cut the snow flakes in Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede.  The larger snowflake I inked up with Versamark and then added some Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder and heated to get my Glitter sparkle.

The Soft Suede turned a lot darker than I had hoped but the Cherry Cobbler looks great. Plus I added some sparkle to myself – LOL as the little bits of glitter just seem to float around your work space.

I added some Rhinestones to the smaller snow flake and added the Merry Christmas Sentiment from the Come to Bethlehem stamp set which has been cut out using the Bitty Banners Framelits.

Here is my card:

P1000797_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Come to Bethlehem

Card: Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark

Accessories:  Snow Flurry Die, Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder, Glue Dots, Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

The layout is great for a quick card and I will add this sparkly card to my Christmas Card stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Simply Stampin Challenge - #79 Sketch

Dynamic Duos Challenge – # 22 Mix Match Week

Frosted Designs Challenge – Embossing

Jingle Belles Rock Challenge – Dashing Through the Snow

We would love to see you at Holly Jolly so please pop over and have a look at what the other team members have created.

Thanks for visiting my little crafty corner and I hope to see you again soon.

Have a great week… Meg
