Photo Inkspiration

So this is the last card that I created for Mynnette's DT challenge for her new challenge called Inkspirational.

This time it is a photo inspirational challenge.

There is so much you could take from the photo, the colours, the Owl – I have decided to use the colours and the owl for inspiration.

I have used more neutral colours as the focus to me is the Owl and the touch of colour on the branches.

So I have used Basic Black, Going Grey and Whisper White with a touch of Real Red.

Here is my card …

Sketch Inkspiration

So on to the third challenge that Mynnette has posted for her DT challenge for the new challenge called Inkspirational.

This time it is a sketch challenge.

I love sketches, this one I have twisted the layout of the original sketch and I had a great time creating this card.

I have used Everything Eleanor stamp set and a colour combo of Island Indigo, More Mustard (which I have not used for ages) with Vanilla Cardstock.

There is nearly always some bling on my card but this time I have added pearls too!

Here is my card…..

Colour Inkspiration

So following on from my previous post I have created a new card for the 2nd Inspirational DT challenge that Mynnette has for the new Inkspirational Challenge.

This time the challenge is a Colour Challenge and the colours are:

Olive, Suede and Sky Blue

so I have used Old Olive, Soft Suede and Bashful Blue on my card.

I recently stumbled on a Technique called Acrylic Block Collage and decided to use this technique also for my card.

Now I have not really created a collage but I loved how you ink up an acrylic block with your inks (lightest to darkest colours) and then spritz with Water and then place the block on cardstock.

Creates a really random effect here is my card…..

P1010062_edited-1

Supplies:

Stamp set: Loving Thoughts

Card: Soft Suede, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Whisper White

Ink: Soft Suede, Old Olive, Bashful Blue

Accessories: 2 3/8” Scallop Circle Punch, Modern Label Punch, 1 1/4” Scallop Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Little Leaves Sizzlits Die (retired), Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

Thanks for visiting…. Meg

Pink & Blue Christmas

Hi everyone, I hope that your week has started off fabulous and that you are all well!!!

I cannot believe that within a months time Christmas will be over ! Yes we are definitely on the down hill count down now.

So how are you going with your Christmas cards?  Need some inspirations?  How about visiting us at Holly Jolly for our new challenge which is to use Pink and Blue on your Christmas Project.

I was not sure how to complete my card but I wanted to use the Come to Bethlehem stamp set eventually I decided to create a little pink light in a blue background to create a Summer sunset.  You know the saying “Pink sky at Night sailors delight, Pink sky in Morning sailors warning”.

So I sponged a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Baja Breeze and then added a little Primerose Petals ink.  I stamped the Three Wise Men in Midnight Muse and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

The image was cut out using the Labels Collection Framelits and I also cut out a piece of the Snow Festival DSP in a large die from the Labels Collection to create a frame for the image.

The base card stock is Primerose Petal and I added a scrap of Whisper White down one side which has been embossed using the Fancy Fan Folder.  Plus there is one Rhinestone for some bling.

Here is my card…

Of course there is a Rhinestone and some ribbon too!

Inspired by a Carol

Hi everyone,

Well the count down is on for Christmas!

At Holly Jolly we have a new challenge for everyone and it is to create something that has been inspired by a Christmas Carol.

The little card I have created has been inspired by the Christmas Carol, “Let it Snow” and these cute little penguins almost seem like they are listening to the Carol.

I have gone all sparkly too, I have used the Sponsor’s image coloured it in with Water Coloured Crayons.  I used one of the Labels Collection Framelits to cut out the image, then I applied versamark ink to the whole image added  heat and stick powder, embossed it with the heat tool and then while it was sticky added some Dazzling Diamonds to the whole image.

It looks great in real life - you can see a little in the photo.

The paper is from the Festival of Prints DSP Paper Stack and the sentiment is from the More Merry Messages stamp set.  I also used one of the lovely little brads from the Vintage Trinkets.

Here is my card…

It has been a lovely weekend here is Sydney, busy but great fun.

But I want to share with you our new challenge at Come and Get It which is Flourishes and Swirls.

The layout for my card has been inspired by the Clean and Simple sketch and I used a colour combo of Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla.

The Very Vanilla card stock has been embossed using the Framed Tulips Folder and I also die cut some swirls using the Swirls Scribble Die.  Plus some Butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits.

For some Flourishes I have used the Very Vintage Wheel Jumbo wheel and I haven’t used this well in such a long time, it has such a lovely print.

Wedding Card

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post to share with you a card that I created for a friend at work who is attending a wedding on the weekend.

The card colours and the Orchard choice for the image were inspired by the original wedding invitation which was received in a box and there was a layer of an Orange Tulle  material.

I have used Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie and retired Naturals Ivory card stock to create the card.

The Pumpkin Pie piece of card was die cut using the Large Scallop Edgelit and embossed using one of the folders from the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder.

The Orchard image is Non SU and the sentiment “The New Mr & Mrs” is from the retired Marry Me stamp set.

Here is the front of the card…

P1000890_edited

In the inside of the card I added a pocket which was created using the Petite Pocket Die as they will be adding a gift in the card.

I used Crumb Cake card stock so that the pocket did not take over the message on the inside of the card but I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using the Lacy Brocade Textured Embossing Folder on the flap part of the pocket.

The sentiment reads “For You” and is from the Elements of Style stamp set.  A little bit of Linen Thread has been used to hold the pocket closed.

Here is the inside of the card..

Supplies:

Stamp set: Elements of Style, Marry Me, Non-SU Orchid Stamp

Dreaming Butterflies

Hello once more everyone!

At Crafty Creations we have new challenge – No Flowers!

I had thought this would be easy but I realised that I put flowers or part of a flower on my cards a lot so I did the next best thing – Butterflies!

Yes I do my like Butterflies so I have teamed my Butterflies with a sketch from Clean and Simple plus I have gone pink.

The butterflies have been embossed and die cut using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.  The Very Vanilla background card has been embossed using the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder and I have daubered some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint so it has little sparkle.

A couple of pearls have been added to 3 of the butterflies.

Monochromatic Challenge

Hi everyone, hope that your weekend has been wonderful!

I would like to share with you my card for the new challenge at Come and Get It this week and the challenge is sponsored by Fred She Said, so there are prizes.

It is a Monochromatic Challenge and I have gone green.

I have used the sponsors image Emma with Butterfly which is a pre-coloured digital image.  The image is predominately green so I have used Gumball Green and Wild Wasabi card stock for the layers with Soft Suede as my neutral base card.

The layout of my card is inspired by the Just Us Girls layout and I have used the Large Scallop Edgelit Die with the lace embossing folder from the Delicate Designs Folder.

I have also added some non-SU lace and inked one of the butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and punched it out with the co-ordinating Elegant Butterfly Punch.

There is also an Antique Brad and the word Happiness from the Loving Thoughts stamp set and cut it out using the Bitty Banners Framelits die.

Here is my card….
